"Early Time Evolution of Heavy Ion Collisions"

The gluon field produced immediately after the collision of two high energy nuclei can be calculated in a small time expansion in the color glass condensate picture. Energy and momentum conservation constrain the energy density, pressure and flow of a subsequent thermalized plasma phase at early times.
