"Prospects of Jet Tomography Using Hard Processes inside a Soft Medium"

The idea of using hard processes as a probe of the medium created in heay ion collisions is very appealing. However, there are inherent difficulties given the complexity of the collision dynamics leading to ambiguities in the interpretation of data. I discuss what information can be obtained from various observables and what underlying assumptions are needed.
